How it works
You adopt a plant for just €40/month, we farm it and make it grow, with love and expertise, in our truffle plantation. All the truffles growing from your plant will be yours, only and forever your.
Your investment will be kept safe under the contract we’ll sign. In case your plant should die, we’ll replace it with another plant of the same age. Zero risks for you.
For the sake of honesty I have to tell you that the only “weakness” (if this is even the right word) in this business is time. For a plant to start producing truffles, in fact, it’s going to take from 5 to 7 years, starting from the moment of your adoption.
We are very aware of the fact that not everyone is brave enough to take this decision. If you are among those ones who cannot make this kind of a decision, we understand you. If it were so easy, everyone would do it!
Let me introduce myself
My name is Marco di Valentino and I’m the founder of the Regal Truffle – Adopt a King project. I was born 46 years ago in Lucerna, Switzerland, in which I formed myself as a human being.
After graduating as a dental technician, after 5 years working on the field I decide to become a small entrepreneur, led by my creativity, so I founded three companies which operate in the dental field.
Thanks to the passion for good food, the will to share with friends and the passion for truffle as well I created “Cusciano SRL“, a company which allows us to manage the Regal Truffle – Adopt a King project.
What we believe in
We decided to start this project to contribute in relaunching the backcountry of our Abruzzo, a wonderful and varying territory, weakened by a series of catastrophic events which threatened the economy, the geography and the people’s morale in the past 10 years.
This series of events led to the depopulation of whole towns and to the abandonment of a beautiful territory, close to the sea and at the base of the mountains, therefore particularly suitable for truffle plantation – especially thanks to the soil’s characteristics, which is constantly under the benefic influence of the winds coming from the sea and from the mountains, making it very fertile and rich in minerals.
Thanks to all this, this land originates the best truffle in the world in terms of smell and taste: the “Nero Pregiato” truffle.
A green choice
Another key aspect, which helped us in dedicating ourselves to truffle farming, is that this kind of plantation doesn’t need any chemicals or pesticides.
Thanks to this, the truffle can be identified as a 100% organic product and it allows us to operate towards a much greater sustainability and in the full respect of nature.
We are particularly fond of those two aspects as, since we were children, we had a huge respect for the nature surrounding us, here in the green lung of Italy, in the heart of the “Abruzzo National Park”.
It’s here that the “Adopt a King” project originates.
What happens once you decide to adopt your “King”
The first step in adopting your “King” is to subscribe to our waiting list, so that you could be contacted by one of our agents, who will explain in even more detail the “Adopt a King” project, answering to every further questions you might have.
Once you truly understand all the advantages in adopting a truffle plant, you’ll be ready to sign the adoption contract, which will be sent to you directly via email.
Well, now you are ready to adopt your “King”! We’ll plant the truffle plant and we’ll take care of it with passion, love and expertise, so that it could be able to produce the most truffle possible in the shortest time (at least 4-5 years). You’ll be able to monitor the current status of your investment and the cares it will receive via webcam, 24/7.
Once you pland will produce the first truffles, you’ll have their exclusive property and you’ll manage them as you like: you’ll be able to keep them for yourself, sell them at a price of your choosing, cook them… if you prefer, we can sell them in your place, at local market prices, and you’ll just enjoy the profit of your investment without moving a finger.
What happens if your plant dies? No worries, we’ll apply to your every plant a 100% warranty and we’ll replace the dead plant with a new one, of the same age and progress status.
