Our Mission

Regal Truffle’s goal is to relaunch the land of Abruzzo, which witnessed a series of catastrophic events, weakening the economy, the territory and the people’s morale, such as the earthquakes of 2009 and 2016 (respectively in L’Aquila and Amatrice) and the great snow of 2017, ending in the tragical Rigopiano avalanche.

This sequence of events brought to the migration of whole towns in the backcountry, resulting in the abandonment of a beautiful land, close to the sea as well as the mountains, extremely suitable for the farming of truffles, due to the advantages of having both sea and mountain winds and a terrain very fertile and rich in minerals and nourishing elements. Not accidentally this is the home of the world’s best truffle (in terms of taste and fragrance): the “Nero Pregiato”.

Another important reason why we decided to dedicate ourselves to the farming of truffles is that it doesn’t requires chemical products, allowing us to give you a 100% organic product, towards a more sustainable and green world.

We are particularly fond of those two aspects as, since we were children, we have always respected the nature surrounding us here in the Abruzzo National Park, Italy’s green lung.

Eating has always been one of men’s most cherished and pleasing activities. In Abruzzo we have an old saying, which is: “Dove si mangia, Dio ci accompagna”, Roughly translated, it means “Where there’s food, God is with us”.

Truffles are among the most ecological and useful foods for our planet and, moreover, they have a strong reputation in international cuisine, as they are recognised as an eminent ingredient, to the point of being defined “divine”.

Here’s where the Regal Truffle – Adopt a King project takes place.

Moved by these two themes, we decided to contribute to the relaunch of this wonderful land, offering a concrete business opportunity for those areas in which truffle is farmed, creating new job opportunities in the territory.
